- macOS is bundled with an app called "Digital Color Meter".
- It was first created in 2001 as a color picker.
- The MacBook display "Brightness" and "True Tone" do not affect the color picker values.
- The "Preset" in "Displays" does affect the color picker values.
- EDR stands for "Extended Dynamic Range".
- Values can be displayed using the standard "as Hexadecimal" or using the raw values "as Float".
- When displaying colors "as Float", the values can go above 1.000 for HDR images. They are unable to exceed 1.000 for SDR images.
- "Cmd + Shift + C" can be used to copy the values to the clipboard.
- "Cmd + L" locks the currently selected pixel so you don't lose your place when navigating away.
